Hey there, I’m Crissy Dastrup. I’m a creative placemaker living in Kansas City.
Crissy Dastrup takes inspiration from the Greek mythological Goddess, Athena. Athena had a deep understanding of divinity and a keen sense of justice and advocacy but is also a community nurturer and believed in the power of holistic healing through creativity. The root of Crissy’s mission is based on creative placemaking and the art of alchemy. Crissy welds together collaboration and creativity, breathing fresh ideas into everything she touches with the goal being creative infusion.
Crissy is a strategic thinker and thrives in the power of possibility and potential. She is a healer and researcher, community builder, philosopher, force of nature and the founder of Troost Market Collective.
Crissy prides herself on being a community connector and advocate for the arts and the artist. As an artist herself, Crissy has worked in the mediums of fashion, jewelry making, and photography of the like. Within these pursuits a question mark remains – where does that leave room for Crissy to thrive as an artist? Establishing a brick-and-mortar space for Troost Market Collective would do just that. Crissy plans to lead workshops and classes alongside other artists in the community – building an arts and humanities hub and resource center for likeminded artists in the community.
